Wedding Policy

Congratulations on your engagement!

We are overjoyed to celebrate your union of marriage as an agreement between man and woman who are in covenant with God. As Christians, we believe the gifts of God are available to us. The plans for creating your wedding are to be centered in Christ, who is in the love of God has given to you.

Through the Lord, your vows to each other are from the strength of His steadfast love. We pray the Lord will enable your marriage to grow in love and peace with one another all your days, which they may reach out in concern and service to the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Baptism Policy

"Baptism is not only a sign of profession, and mark of difference; but it is also a sign of regeneration, or the new birth. The baptism of young children is to be retained in the church."

Baptism is a sacrament. In a sacrament, God uses common elements - in this case, water - as means or vehicles of divine grace. Baptism is administered by the church as the Body of Christ. It is the act of God through the grace of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit

As Methodist we believe in infant baptism, in which God claims the child with divine grace. The child can do nothing to save himself or herself, but is totally dependent on God's grace, as we all are — whatever our age. In believer's baptism (adult baptism), the person being baptized is publicly professing her or his own decision to accept Christ.
